I Have Had Discomfort When Swallowing, And Some Pain When

I have had discomfort when swallowing, and some pain when swallowing for about a month. I saw a ear, nose, and throat doctor and after he put a scope up my nose and down my throat, he said that it was related to acid getting into my throat and causing damage. He told me to take Prilosec OTC twice a day for one month, and once a day for another month. I am still in the midst of doing this, but today when I was drinking water I heard a pop in my throat as I was swallowing, followed by severe pain. No every time I swallow, it is extremely painful on the right side of my throat. When I press on the right side of my esophagus, it is very tender.
