I Have Had Episodes Of An Acidic Type Drainage From

I have had episodes of an acidic type drainage from my Eustachian tube down the back of my throat that literally takes my breath away and I can hardly talk when this happens. It usually passes after 10 mins. What causes this and should I be concerned?
