I Have Had Irregular Heartbeat For Many Years. My Pcp

I have had irregular heartbeat for many years. My Pcp had me on digoxin for 8 years. I finally was sent to a cardiologist and he took me off the digoxin and prescribed me verapmil 100 mg er capsules. I have normal to low blood pressure without taking any medication. Should I take the verapmil? I have not taken any yet. I don't want to go around sluggish or have no energy with even lower blood pressure. I saw on webmd that is what this stuff does is lower blood pressure.
