I Have Had Knee Joint Replacement In 2009,, But I

I have had knee joint replacement in 2009,, but I cannot lift my knee from a sitting position. I've had pain for 4 years. I had a fall in January and it is worse. I have had physical therapy but it did not help. My surgeon thinks the bone is rubbing against plastic piece. He wants to shave the bone and take off bone spurs and clean up any scar tissue. He says this is a minimal surgery. Do you agree? What is the recovery?
