I Have Had Mucus In My Eyes For The Last

I have had mucus in my eyes for the last few weeks. Also very red and burning. My vision is very blurred at times. I seen my family Dr. On Tuesday last week he said it was a bad case of pink eye in both eyes and gave me Vigamox drops to put in eyes 2 x daily. Had to go back to Dr Friday for checkup. He said it's a little better but only been 3 days. I feel as if it's getting worse. My vision is getting more blurry. And when I wake up in the morning my eyes feel glued shut. All day long my eyes hurt and vision is blurred,also eyes produce mucus. I'm always with a cold wash cloth on both eyes for some relief. Does pink eye take long to heal?
