I Have Had My Nose Pierced For A Couple Of

I have had my nose pierced for a couple of weeks and with close examination I have noticed around my pericing inside and out is swollen. I did some reasesch online and it said this doesn't always mean the pericing is infected. It said to dissolve a aspirin in some water and apply it the the affected area. I just wanted to be sure that if I do this it won't hurt the pericing or make it become infected if it isn't already. Do you think it would help the pericing?
