I Have Had Off And On Pain From The Left

I have had off and on pain from the left side of my stomach around to my lower back. Ibuprofen dulls the pain but then it comes back. I had a kidney stone over 20 years ago and the symptoms seem similar, however, the pain did not go away at the time and I had to go to the hospital. This has been happening for two days.
