I Have Had One Swollen Tonsil For Three Months Now

I have had one swollen tonsil for three months now with three bouts of tonsillitis in between. All blood & saliva tests have come back showing nothing. I now have enlarged fungiform papillae on the same side of my tongue as the affected tonsil. What could be the problem?
