I Have Had Pain On The Left Side Of My

I have had pain on the left side of my neck very sore to the touch have had on an off for probably last six months now I'm getting over a bad cold an it is seriously sensitive it is right where my artery is located exactly where my artery is at. What do you think kinda scares me. Thanks.
