I Have Had Pityriasis Rosacea For 6 Months And Now

I have had pityriasis rosacea for 6 months and now have been prescribed prednisone for 12 days. It is a step down pack starting with 60 mg a day. I have read a lot of negative things about prednisone and also not a lot of evidence that it helps PR. So my question is as a second opinion, do you think it will work? Also I am a long-distance runner and run every day, will prednisone have any negative side effects with my running?
