I Have Had Sore Appear On My Tounge Then Disappear

I have had sore appear on my tounge then disappear after a few days only to reappear in a different spot. The are very very sore. I have also had a patch on the tip of my tounge look as if it is missing tastebuds - it is very smooth
I am also recovering from a virus which may be related?
