I Have Had This Tonsil Tag Ever Since I Had

I have had this tonsil tag ever since I had the tonsils out when I was 7. I am now over 70. The tag gets inflamed regularly. I am told it is a barometer of health. I almost never go for antibiotics but wait for it to clear up. I expect to be stuck with it. What would be the outcome of an operation to cut it away?
