I Have Had Three Episodes Of Shingles Since A Fall

I have had three episodes of shingles since a fall 11/2 years ago. This time it seems different. Very red raised, itchy but not painful so far. Duration 3 days. No doctor as yet for diagnosis. If it is shingles what can they give me anyways. I understand that I cannot have the shot once you have an outbreak. Not even after the bout is over???
