I have had two instances of blood clotting. Once, five years ago, I had a right transverse sinus thrombosis and a year ago I was diagnosed with many clots in my lungs probably due to a DVT. I had genetic testing done and apparently I have a mutant clotting gene. I am currently taking warfarin for the remainder of my life. I am a 63 y.o. female. I am having to take a large dose of warfarin to maintain an INR of 2.5 - 3.0. I am currently taking approximately 15 mg. per day. I have been experiencing tremendous hair loss. I was wondering if this could be related to the warfarin. I have also, for the last six months, been plagued with intense thickening of mucus in my nose, throat and mouth. I have been to two ENT's and they do not know what is causing this. They are trying to treat the symptoms with nasal sprays, mouth moisturizers and nasal rinse, but to no avail. Could this also be related to warfarin. I am truly suffering. I cannot bring the glue like mucus up and cannot stop it from reproducing constantly. It is coating my teeth, tongue nostrils and throat 24/7.
