I Have Had Two Stapedectomies, One In 1979 And One

I have had two stapedectomies, one in 1979 and one in 1981. They were both successful. There was some minor nerve damage in one ear also. They've both worked well over the years until about 3 years ago. I've been told that I need a hearing aid after having had a hearing test. Before I make the decision to purchase a hearing aid, I'm wondering if I should pursue having my stapedectomies checked. Is there anything that can be done if the wires are no longer working properly? Thanks, Pat
