I Have Has Low Blood Counts For The Past 9

I have has low blood counts for the past 9 mos.I had a Endoscopic procedure which showed a large sliding hernia. My CBC is now very low with red cells dropping from 26 to 22 in about 8 weeks. My only symptoms are shortness of breath and feeling tired. I have been advised to have a immediate blood transfusion. I'am a teacher and m age is 71. I'am worried to say the least. Thank you, Ginny
