I Have Have A Prolapsing Internal Hemorrhoid That Developed Within

I have have a prolapsing internal hemorrhoid that developed within my anus, It is not painful and there is no bleeding. But occasionally it feels like a bowl movement on. It is very moist and I must use toilet paper to protect my underwear from moisture. This is been going on for several weeks now. Should I contact my doctor (internal medicine) or is it something I can take care of myself? I'll appreciate your reply.
