Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have have had a low grade temp (99.1-99.8F) for about a month now. Saw an MD who said it was viral and had to run its course. But I'm also now having hypoglycemic episodes, the last one my blood sugar dropped to 29 and I had a hard time talking or making sense. I had a prophylactic total gastrectomy in 2008 due to a STRONG family history of stomach cancer and a CDH1 mutation. I'm worried this could be related but I don't want to be a hypochondriac about this.. ( hypoglycemia is a common side effect when you've had this surgery which is why I need to eat frequent small meals... but it's never gotten so low.. and my only previous symptoms were shakiness, sweating and hunger... I've never had expressive aphasia before..scared the hell out of me! ) and this low grade temp also has me nervous. Is it time to see someone more than my primary doctor?
