I Have Hypertension That Up Until Now Has Been Under

I have hypertension that up until now has been under control with Hyzaar & Norvasc. This past week my BP has spiked to as high as 185/124 but on average the diastolic has stayed around 100. My concern is I'm having surgery in one week to repair a torn rotator cuff. Is it safe to be under anesthesia with high BP & what can I do to bring it down? I'm already meditating & trying to reduce stress. I'm not overweight & I don't eat alot of salt.
