Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have intense pain in my right arm, mostly above the elbow but also below. It is constant and throbbing. It has been slowly getting worse over the past few months. My general practicioner referred to it as tendinitis (just last Friday) and suggested ice won’t help because the inflammation is too deep. He mainly said take the max of ibuprofen and come see him again in a couple weeks at which time a steroid injection may be in order. I hope he is right, but this is pain such as I have never experienced before. I cannot sleep nor find a position to hold my arm that doesn’t hurt. My doc said my strength seems okay, based on him asking me to press against him in various arm positions. Should tendinitis be this debilitating?
