I have just been diagnosed with lpr and have been prescribed a ppi. I eat a pretty healthy, low fat diet, I am very fit and try to exercise frequently but I do eat a normal amount of acidic produce and will try to reduce this as much as I can because I know it can worsen reflux. I don't use tobacco or drink; i know these have bad effects on the effectiveness of the esophageal sphincters. But I did smoke marijuana until I about a week before I started noticing the symptoms of lpr. Does marijuana have the same negative effects on the sphinters as tobacco and alcohol? Once the inflammation and everything clears up can I go back to normal, occasional THC consumption? Also, I've read about some diet changes that would help. Are there any suggestions for a good, solid diet plan to help treat my lpr? I know it can take a while for treatments to start the healing process, are there any other, natural remedies I can start using to help ease symptoms or reflux? And lastly would ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory help or hurt my symptoms and reflux? Thanks!
