I Have Just Been To Get My Blood Tested Due

I have just been to get my blood tested due to previous blood results showing that my platelet count is above normal - reading 680 when last tested. Straight after my blood sample was taken today, my arm came up with a haematoma. Is this likely to be connected to the platelet count being high?
