Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just been told my 67 year old father who is over weight and has type 2 diabetes has only 20 percentage of his heart functioning and is not eligible for a double bypass. There is a possibility of a stent in 1 of the artery but the main one is far too damaged.
This has all come to light when he experienced chest pains which lead to a mild heart attack.
How will this affect his quality of life, what stage of heart failure / heart disease is this and what is his life expectancy.
I am in a state of shock and I'm desperately looking for answers.
Kind regards
