Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just been told that I have 2 issues of Marfans going on. I have known that since I was born that my joints would go out of place. My parents had learned how they had to be set back in . I did have a lot of facial deformities that braces helped a lot but now I have TMJ from that. I have also found out that my heart is 20% enlarged and that I am diabetic . I have had 3 surgeries on my R knee , 1 on my L knee, 2 on my L foot , and now rods and screws to hold my neck together ,my lower back has fused itself together so they could not do a epedural . My left foot is also deformed and should have surgery . What does this all hold in the future for me ? I have reached the decision of no more surgery but am I going to end up in bed the rest of my life ? We tried a walker but that threw my wrist joints to get inflamed. then we tried a cane and that has messed up my shoulder . Healthcare says I should push through it but I am afraid that would end up with worse problems . Do you have someone that I could talk to about this ? Is there any good outlook to this ? I am 63 and already in a nursing facility .
