I Have Never Been Troubled With Lower Back Pain Until

I have never been troubled with lower back pain until the past six months; however, it's more than just back pain; there is also pain in my right buttock that occasionally shoots pain down the back of my hamstring muscle to the back of my knee. It certainly is dose related to exercise, which over the past three years has had to be dramatically reduced. The pain is very reminiscent of symptoms I've read to be present in sciatica. But I have been on a statin for five years. Moreover, I am an avid weight lifter and no other muscles in my body give me any trouble at all. However, I can no longer do leg-presses because of the aching and acute pain I feel in the above described areas after I cool down from a workout. Could my statin be causing this?
