I Have Not Had A Period Since I Had The

I have not had a period since I had the Nexplanon inserted in my arm. For the past week, I've had light bleeding. At first it was bright red, but now it's dark brown and almost black. Is this just old lining and tissue being shed or should I go get checked out?
