I Have Noticed A Pain Or Discomfort On The Right

I have noticed a pain or discomfort on the right side of my neck that moves downward along my caradid artery. I was just seen by my cardiologist last week and he said things looked good but I do not remember him listening to my neck. I have woken up the last two mornings with pain higher up behind my neck kinda like if you would sleep wrong.
