I Have Numbness Of My Right Hand Which Happens Mostly

I have numbness of my right hand which happens mostly when I lay down. It is painful and forces me to jump out of bed. I have been diagnosed with moderate carpal tunnel, but my symptoms are severe. Cortisone helped but only for a few months and symptoms resumed very suddenly and more painful. I want surgery but it will be months before I see the orthopaedic surgeon. Any options as to how to handle pain in the meanwhile? I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you!
