I Have Numbness Under My Left Shoulder, Then Pain Fronm

I have numbness under my left shoulder, then pain fronm the top of the left shoulder to behind my right ear. I feel as though someone is cutting off blood to my head, as in choking. What could this be? I have had this for two months and is getting worse. It does not matter wether I am active or inactive, it is always there.
