I Have Osteomylitis Of Rt. Hip Prosthesis. Was Told Surrounding

I have osteomylitis of rt. hip prosthesis. Was told surrounding bone has "turned to soup". Seeing Adult Reconstruction surgeon in March & have been told I must have revision arthroplasty & prosthesis must be left out for "some time". Was also told to expect multiple surgeries & lots of time in hospital. Can you please give me a more detailed explanation of procedures & what to expect? ie: what is used for filler? Will I be wheelchair bound while prosthesis is out? What percent of similar surgeries due to infection of bone result in amputation?, etc.
