I Have Pain In My Foot That Feels Like It

I have pain in my foot that feels like it is in the bones of my left foot, but kind of moves around and comes and goes. I am 63 and recently" backpacked/hiked 115 miles of the JMT in CA. over 15 days. Should I have it checked or try to change my shoes to maybe a different shoe to allow more room. Some of my friends recommended I get a shoe with a wider "box", such a Boca shoes, which they say give more room in the toe area. I believe that was the name. thanks
