I Have Pain In My Left Hand That Has Gotten

I have pain in my left hand that has gotten worse over the last 2 months. What I notice that when I spread my thumb out from my other finger at is when the pain sometimes occurs. There has been a clicking sound or clicking sensation at times also. The pain basically begins between my thumb and other fingers to my wrist. Today was the first time my hand hurt when picking something up.
