I Have Pain In My Left Thumb. It Is Sensitive

I have pain in my left thumb. It is sensitive to touch and I have intense pain if I bend it or it or move my hand. It is not swollen or bruised. I did not hit it. The pain is from the tip of my thumb to the top of my wrist. It began yesterday and is worse today so I have just taken Motrin.
