I Have Pain In My Right Side Towards My Back

I have pain in my right side towards my back below the ribs and it feels like I've broken them, I have back pain which I was told is my muscles going into spasm and fresh red blood in my stools which I was told is probably heamorids but it has not been confirmed, now my gp wants me to have xrays, any ideas what she is looking for?
