I Have Pain Under My Jaw Near Where My Pulse

I have pain under my jaw near where my pulse is. Not sure if its swollen lymph nodes or caritod artery This has been going on for the past 48 hours. Ive taken ibuprofen 800 mg it helps for pain a little. If I drink carbonated water the pain comes back. What could be the cause and what can I do to alleviate the pain.
