I Have Pain Up At The Top Of My Ribs

I have pain up at the top of my ribs where they meet in the middle. I have been throwing up and it gives me pain. I have had an ulcer years ago but this doesn't feel the same. Food feels like it goes down in a lump. I feel better if I don't eat at all, any suggestions as to what it could be?
