I Have Recently Been Diagnosed With HPV 16 Virus Infection

I have recently been diagnosed with HPV 16 virus infection with no genital warts. Tests have indicated my cells are aggressive and pre-cancerous in both the cervix and vagina. I will soon have a laser and LEEP to remove the cells. But what about my partner....he is the carrier of the virus but also has no warts. How do we know if he still has it? Can he be cured of the infection? Will he always be a carrier? How do I keep from being reinfected by him? YYYY@YYYY
