I Have Recently Experienced Numbness, Tingling And Pain In Both

I have recently experienced numbness, tingling and pain in both hands which happens when I'm awake or asleep. Sometimes it's just one hand, but oftentimes it's both. Sometimes it's so painful that it wakes me up at night. It happens regardless of the position I sleep in or what movement I've been doing with my hands. It started a week ago and is now more frequent. I'm very healthy, not overweight and rarely eat sugar. What could the cause of this be?
