I Have Recently Noticed Trail Like Bites On My Skin

I have recently noticed trail like bites on my skin with small bruises around the area. I am nervous it may be bed bugs although my significant other has no sign of bites. We also have a white mattress and there appears to be no bed bugs. The bites are painful and itchy. I'm worried it will leave behind scars. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!
