I Have Recently Started Using A Butrans Patch And It

I have recently started using a Butrans patch and it left two places on the skin where the patch was applied that are red and like like deep scratches. Is this normal? I do not like the way this medication makes me feel but am not sure how to bring this up with my pain management professional - he is not very understanding.
I feel that there are other pain medications that would work better for my chronic pain from MS. How do I tell him that what he has prescribed is not working?
