I Have Recently Started Using Tampons Since I Am A

I have recently started using tampons since I am a heavy blender during the cycle. Today I inserted one and was fine but by an hour or so I started feeling like I was having cramps .I took the tampon out and it looks(feels like) like it scratched . Is that a possibility ? If so what should I do since it still is hurting even though there isn't anything in there
