I Have Recurring Bouts With Stomach Issues/ Bowel Issues. 74
I have recurring bouts with stomach issues/ bowel issues. 74 years old, F...gallbladder out, appendix gone, hysterectomy (ovaries still there) Colon polyp removed in June 2015. Take Nexium...blood pressure and choloesterol meds; iron supplement....have had several bouts where doctor had battery of tests run to check for blockage....mostly no definitive answer other than;...lots of adhesions and scar tissue...nothing else diagnosed from tests. If food is the trigger I am not totally aware of which foods...recently had an episode of dry heaving due to nausea (night)....chills and fever... pretty sure that was an intestinal bug ( students at my school had it) and after a couple of days all seemed well. That was around March 15...Starting last week I began having the same old same old...dyspesia type symptoms again. Pain in side ( which I have had before)...discomfort...stolls are basically normal but depends. Husband said to try gas X... never have before so I did and it seemed to relieve symptoms. But did not want to continue so I did not. Have not spoken with my internist hopeing it will subside. Feel stupid calling about the same thing over and over. One doc says I have a very sensitive digestive tract...Well, really? Was wondering if I should start taking a Probiotic and would that help and if so what type....Or do I need to do something more aggressive. Been a problem really on and off for about 40 years..
