I Have Severe Acid Reflux. I Have Been Taking Esomeprazole

I have severe acid reflux. I have been taking esomeprazole mag for 2 weeks. First 10 days 20 mg, with little relief. Last 4 days at 40 mg or 1 pill @ 20 mg 2x day. A little more relief. Still noticeably and annoyingly bothersome. Can I safely take a total of 60mg a day for a brief period to see if that makes a difference? I also have significant anxiety (classic symptoms) right now, triggered by a difficult life event. I take clonazepam as needed for anxiety. Any issues?
