I have severe central sleep apnea. So severe that my private pulmonary doctor said that he has only seen sleep study results like mine in people who have had a stroke or brain surgery. I am 34, male, and to my knowledge have had neither. I did spend 4 months in Iraq during the war in 2003 but to my knowledge sustained no injuries while there. VA is always "reviewing" my claim but is never able to provide any answers.
