I Have Severe Pain And Swelling In The Outside Portion

I have severe pain and swelling in the outside portion of my left hip. I felt a pop while playing golf. It was ok for a couple of days but yesterday I increased my activity and today it is much worse. It is very limiting physically and my mobility is very limited. I used ice last evening. The pain and discomfort is only acute when standing and trying to walk. Will the pain and swelling go away with rest? Did I rupture the bursa sac?
