I Have Severe Poison Ivy On Waist And Scrotum. Scrotum

I have severe poison ivy on waist and scrotum. Scrotum and penis has swollen 3-4 times the size. Two days on 80 mg of prendnisone. The swelling is down rash continues. No major reaction but should I contact my prescribing doctor and ween down before the 10 therapy. Is this drug safe for a short treatment?
