I Have Severe Tingling, Numbness, Pain, Tenderness In My Feet

I have severe tingling, numbness, pain, tenderness in my feet and lower legs. The left is worse than the right. it is hard to walk at times. I'm taking motrin800 3 times a day. I have an appointment with a neurologist on May 7th. How bad do the symptoms need to get before I go to an emergency room? My pcp did bloodwork last week and said he wanted me to see him but there is no rush, so my appointment with him is at the end of May. As far as I know I am not diabetic. No recent injury to my feet/legs.
