I Have Sharp Pains Behind My Left Ear On The

I have sharp pains behind my left ear on the bone. It started all of a sudden yesterday and is off and on not constant. I thought it was because I haven't slept well for a couple of nights but now I wonder. It is a sharp pain that travels a little up on that side of my head.
