I Have Slight Edema In The Heat And Sometimes My

I have slight edema in the heat and sometimes my feet will swell quite a bit either in the heat or when I travel by airplane. However, I've noticed lately that even when my feet aren't swollen, the top of my left foot swells more than my right foot. If there a reason for this that I should be attentive to? Why the left?
