I Have Some Discomfort On Left Tonsil Area.. Left Side

I have some discomfort on left tonsil area.. left side had some white patch (dont know since how long. noticed it about 3wks ago) but it looks like there is an ulcer now...
my right tonsil was always bigger than the left and it has some white dots? on them.. (on and off)
I usually like to drink hot stuff and I am a smoker about 20 years... recently I changed to electric cigarette and I am trying to quit...
Should I go see a doctor for biopsy right away..?
